CRHD India

  • “I am thankful to our dear Lord Jesus Christ for all the achievements and developments we are witnessing in the small remote village named Turkanadoni in Raichur district, Karnataka state. God is trustworthy and His plans are marvelous and unimaginable. We are seeing here how God is working with people and loving the poor. It is through the transformative vision of Rev. Dr. B. Joseph, who hailed from this small and unknown village to the world, as a pastor from a very poor background. Dr. Joseph and I were classmates during our M.Th studies, our friendship grounded in Christ and love, and continues to this day.

Dr. Joseph, by the grace of our trustworthy God, came to England two decades ago as minister of the Church and settled well, but he didn’t forget his native place where he was born and raised with poor facilities. He is the founder of CRHD Society in India, a charitable trust. He gave me a responsibility as President to this society, which indeed enabled me to extend my services to the poor and to make the bold vision of Joseph a reality.

We started a school in Turukanadoni to educate very poor children. We are able to do this with generous help from CRHD UK, and with prayers and continuous instructions of Dr. Joseph; our school has developed well and many children from neighbouring areas have joined. We are providing free education, school uniforms, books and a midday meal. The school buildings are constructed sufficiently, and furnished appropriately, with a playground for the children. We appointed trained and committed teachers to educate children. Mrs. Snehalatha is working as headmistress.

We also established “Nutan Tailoring Centre”, which indeed trained many poor women in tailoring and made them resilient and self-empowered. Mrs. Daniel is working hard for the welfare of this center. Mr. Ravi Buhasan our Secretary, and Mr. Abel our treasurer have been working faithfully for the welfare of this society.

There is much more we can do to help these poor children, by upgrading this school to a High School and College one day. We trust that nothing is impossible with faithful prayer. Once, this village was unknown, but now it has become well known not only in Raichur but also in England. That is the fruit of the transformative vision and love of Dr. B. Joseph. Certainly all our donors, supporters, and workers will receive divine rewards from our Lord”.

  • “In 2002/03 the founder of Cross Roads for Human Development, Dr. Joseph, elected me as CRHD secretary; in 2004 he elected me as the Kids Paradise school manager. I thank CRHD for electing me to work with them. According to me, this is not my work, but service for God so I’m very happy to do this job for the past 20 years with joyfulness, accountability and trust.

The Nutan Tailoring Centre also started in 2005/06, by Gods’ grace and with your prayers, it is running very well.

I give my thanks to the founder of CRHD for believing in me and allocating more responsibilities with me, now I’m living as a respectful person in society because of this charitable work. Without CRHD I’m nothing, so I heartily thank all CRHD members/donors along with my family. Over the past twenty years or so, many of our students have gone on to further studies, graduating with BEng GNM, BSc, BCom, and BA. And some students are working in different fields.

Myself and my family are praying for Joseph and his family, and CRHD committee members in the UK.

Please pray for our school and tailoring centre. Thank you”.

  • “I am proud to be the Treasurer of the CRHD Society in India. I have worked in this position from January 2003 to today, as my occupation is Accounts Assistant at D V Sarovar & Company in Raichur, Karnataka state. I am happy to work for this charity, as our main aim is to serve the people (Kids Paradise and Tailoring Centre students), and motivate them.

Turukanadoni is 25-30 kilometres away from the city of Raichur and has no sufficient transport links. Therefore the villagers can only make a living from local employment, and are forced to resort to daily wage labour. We have empowered so many schoolchildren, who would not have been able to afford the state school fees, and are now happily learning with us. Our previous students have gone on to noble professions like Engineering and Nursing. Likewise, the Tailoring Centre courses have produced many self-dependent women, with a marketable tailoring skillset”.
